Solutions

I think that a solution could be for Egypt to own the Nile. Its not like they will take all of the water of the Nile. They even built a dam in Aswan so that their water level will decrease which means the other countries will have more water. Egypt will be fair. The only thing they wont allow is for any other countries to build on it. The other countries can obviously buy electricity from Egypt. The only reason that Egypt can build dams on the river is because they wont blocking a water source on anyone since after Egypt the water goes into the Mediterranean sea. I think that the other countries cannot be trusted to own the Nile because they will take advantage of the water and build on it, which will block the water source for other countries. Its not like anything is changing if Egypt owns the Nile. Everyone can just live the same they were before without dams. Another reason why Egypt should own the Nile is because they other countries have easier access to ground water Egypt’s ground water is much deeper and harder to get. They all have sea water next to they which they can desalinate from but it is expensive it would just be easier to use the ground water, which Egypt doesn’t have easy access to. The population in Egypt and Ethiopia is almost the same. They are both around 100 million, while Sudan is much less. Even if Ethiopia builds the dam and Egypt loses water from it, Egypt might start a war. Since Egypt is probably one of the top 20 armies in the world, they will win and Ethiopia will be forced to remove the dam. So either way they are wasting money. That is why I think Egypt owning the Nile is a good solution.

The amazon’s problem is that they have too many dams and are building even more. Even though dams have an advantage, which is electricity, they also have disadvantages. They mostly have to do with plants and animals but they also cause many more problems. Some of the reasons that dams are don’t help as much as they seem to do so at the beginning is because of the following. Reason 1 is because the water level will rise which will cause a flood. Another reason is because some rare species can completely extinct or endangered. The next reason is because the water slows down which causes a change in the temperature. Some plants and animals cannot adapt to the change and they die. That is why I don’t think they should keep building these dams. On the river they currently have or are building 140 dams. I’m not saying they need to destroy them but they should stop planning to build more.
